Our color-coded gasket is engineered to replace a conventional clamp gasket and prevent overtightening to establish an ideal elastomer to stainless steel transition at the sealing location. With Our color-coded gasket, the elastomer will not extrude into the inside diameter of the process pipeline. Our color-coded gasket accomplishes our goal by combining a hard stop with an elastomer. The rigid surface limits the load that the elastomer would typically be subject to. What happens when a gasket intrudes into the process pipeline: Intrusion can result in bacteria entrapment as bioburden will have a place to grow and hide from CIP chemicals and from steam used to sterilize the system. Elastomers can fail prematurely as contact increases into the process flowpath. Extraction from materials increase from gasket erosion. Gasket can fragment and contaminate batches with unwanted particles. Blocking flowpath can affect output.
